Best Church Finders [2026]

It is incredibly difficult to find a good gospel preaching church in 2026. It can be exhausting looking through the dozens upon dozens of church finders that exist just to walk in the door and find out that the church wasn’t what you were expecting. Here are our tips in finding a gospel centered church in 2026 and then we have some suggestions on where to start looking:

1. Ask Around – see if anyone you know knows of a good church in the area that you’re moving to. Many times personal connections make for the best church contacts. Oftentimes Facebook groups can be a good starting point, but make sure to go onto the next steps even with a recommendation in mind!
2. Listen to Sermons – this is an important part of finding a church! You want to make sure that they preach the bible, teach what is true, and have sermons that point to Christ. You can often get a good feel for the pastor(s), the culture, and the church as a whole by listening to a few sermons. Tip: make sure to check the leadership / pastors page as it’s possible the sermon you listened to was from a guest preacher or a pastor that doesn’t preach often. Make sure when you’re evaluating that you’re evaluating based on what you’re likely to see each Sunday.
3. Attend a Service – The only way to really know is to attend a service! What is the worship like? What are the people like? Do people come up to you and introduce themselves? Does someone invite you out to lunch? What are the prayers like during the service? What are the other ministries or events they have going on soon? These are all indicators on how it might be.
4. Pray About It – Choosing a church is not a light choice. You need to pray and ask God for help and to guide you to the right place. There’s no perfect church, but it’s important to chose one by the Spirit’s leading and guiding and to be wise and discerning about what church is a good fit for you and your family.

2. The Gospel Coalition Directory – If you want a large, reputable network look at The Gospel Coalition directory of churches. There are thousands of churches to chose from and they all align to gospel-centered biblical standards.
3. 9Marks Church Finder – There’s a ministry called 9 Marks that has made a reputation for having faithful, biblical churches across the United States and abroad. It’s a great place to start when looking for a church finder. Do note though that it is not a denomination and the churches on their church finder are not necessarily officially associated with 9Marks.
